Watch out for Invasive Species

Be careful not to introduce invasive species to your cottage. Invasive species such as zebra mussels, Asian carp and Eurasian water-milfoil cost the province millions each year to repair the damage they do. Some invasive aquatic species can survive up to two weeks out of the water and not every invader attached to your boat can be seen with the naked eye.

Insect Bite Prevention

Mosquitoes and ticks can transmit several infectious diseases to humans. Ontario Passes Legislation to Improve Road Safety

This week Ontario passed the Making Ontario Roads Safer Act, which included new fines and measures coming in to affect over the next few months. With the new legislation Ontario will have some of the toughest distracted driving penalties in the world. The new bill also includes new laws for drivers in regards to cyclists and pedestrians in order to reduce collisions, injuries and fatalities on our roads.
